2010 Audi a4 and iPhone 5 connection issues?

I got a 2010 Audi a4 about a week ago for my first car and I love it! The only thing is that I'm having issues connections my iPhone 5 to the AMI in the glove box. I have a premium + without nav if that makes any difference. The thing is I have two wires coming out of the glove box, one for the last iPhone models and one for aux. I connected my iPhone 5 to the aux and nothing connected. I then tried my brothers 4s and my ipad to both ports to see if it would connect and it didn't. I called Audi and I was told that iPhone 5 does not connect in any way at all. If that's the case then why didn't the 4s or the ipad connect? Could it possibly be a bad wire/connection? If not, is it worth it to get an older iPod touch just to use for the car and will that work? It seems kind of ridiculous that a ford fiesta connects wirelessly and a 3 year old German car won't connect at all. Any help would be great!

What part of "I was told that iPhone 5 does not connect in any way at all," don't you understand? As for the 4, did you "pair it" to the Bluetooth?

I'm not a developer and I do not have a developer account I can't restore the device as since I did the update the phone won't connect! WHAT SHOULD I DO? If anything does anyone have a developer account just so I can get into my phone? Yes I updated to iOS7 well tried and I can't restore as it won't connect
