45 photos in iPhone = 900MB what?

Added (1). If 1 photo = 2MB, therefore 2MB x 45 photos = 90MB. What takes up 900MB? And, its impossible for 45 photos of MEMES (thats right, memes!) to take up almost 1GB wtf. Is something wrong with my iPhone? I tried asking at Apple Support but the f*cktards over there don't know how to respond I guess. One of them said 45 photos do take almost 1GB wtf?

What should I do? FYI before updating to iOS 8, I had like 2000+ photos and it only took up around 2GB, which is understandable.

First off ios 8 was 1gb of an update to begin with… Making my 13gb which apple calls a 16gb a 12gb… Ios8 has a higher set standard for image mapping in other words pictures are less compressible, but you will save resolution of the photo

I've never understood how people have these issues with photos taking up GBs of space when the total photo count is not that much. I have at last check a little over 1500 taking up a little over.5GB.

As far as what to do, try uploading those pics to online storage sites like Google+ Photos or Flickr.

I've been told iOS update can be as bad as 7gb of your data… That's why I'm not doing it.
Hook it up to iTunes and it will tell you how many gb you've used on it and what for.

  • Will Google+ Photos distinguish photos from my iPhone and my Macbook Pro? I have Google+ backup for both my iPhone and my Macbook Pro (iPhoto) and I was wondering if it would distinguish pictures from the two. Like… "Photos from your iPhone" & "Photos from your Mac" Or, does it just upload them all into one place, and categorize all the photos just by date?
