Are accidental explosions covered by Apple s warranty?

If I were to travel overseas and forget to use an international adapter/charger to charge my brand new iPhone and it ends up exploding because the electrical system is different overseas, completely destroying the phone and causing other property damage, is this converted under the warranty?

If you have AppleCare Plus (you PAY for this option), yes, if you are talking about the BASIC warranty, no.

Anything is possible but if you already know about it i would just be more careful

Actually no. The basic warranty only covers manufacturing defects. AppleCare covers accidental damage - you are still required though to take reasonable care - user stupidity is not covered! It might pay you to look at your charger though because many of these are "world chargers", and so should work in multiple dominions!

I wouldn't think so, since that's pretty much your fault. I guess no harm in checking them about it though. May get lucky.

No. Negligence is not covered.

Apple chargers are universal voltage so it can't happen anyway.

No it is not. That is considered user error.

Nope

Since it is a user negligence, then Apple will not cover it since the warranty only covers manufacturing defects.

  • Would this be coinsidered accidental damage when claiming? I have mobile insurance with my bank Barclays, they cover me for pretty much anything, i have just broken my iphone 6 which was in my pocket, as i got out my car it fell out and into the road and got ran over by a passing car, the screen is smashed and the phone has a slight bend to it. Would this be considered accidental by my bank.
  • Will apple still cover me with their 1 year apple warranty? My uncle gave me his iPhone 4S as a gift, it has warranty until November 2013 and for some reason the phone turns off by itself about every 3 hours! The phone does not have any water damage as the water indicators are white, will apple still cover me on fixing it or giving me another one since I'm not the original owner but the phone is still under their warranty!
  • Will A Stuck SIM Card Be Covered By IPhone 5s Warranty? Recently I got an Iphone 5s, and, like an idiot, tried to cut the over-sized sim, and now it's stuck in the phone. If the Apple geniuses can't remove it, then will it be covered by the warranty?
  • Is sticky lock on iPhone4s covered under warranty? I purchased my iPhone 4s from NTelos in October of last year (about 10 months ago). The phone has no other damage or issues other than a sticky lock button. Is a replacement or repair covered by the iPhone's 1 year warranty? If not, would my phone provider (NTelos) be able to repair or help me find someone who can?
