Activating a Found Iphone? ATT?

I found a pin locked att iphone about a week ago, so i'm not able to get in to it. No one has called the phone and it seems to me tht they canceled their service because for the past three days it now says "no service" in the top left. I decided to use it, so i'm new to Att, how do i activate this phone after i restore it?

What the ***? They obviously cancelled their service because they were worried that if someone found it they would use up all the credit.trust me, i lost my phone one and then i cancelled it so no one would use my credit (i found it luckily. Anyway put signs or whatever around where you found it saying you found a phone and hopefully the person will see it.

You should return it to an Apple store, that phone is not yours.

Plus if it was reported lost/stolen then you won't be able to activate it.
