Activating a reported lost/stolen iPhone 5?
My dad s friend broke the back camera of his iPhone 5 over a year ago & wanted a new phone so he reported it lost/stolen so that his contract was up or however that works. & then he gave the phone to me so I could use it as an iPod & cause my phone didn't have a front camera. What IIm asking is can I take the SIM out & activate it under another carrier? I broke the screen of my phone & would be nice if I could use the iPhone till I get my screen replaced. Let me know how this works thanks so much!
No not with an iPhone and if you are then be ready for some legal issues… They'll think you stole it
No.
1st off it would have to be unlocked for that to even work & 2ndly it would likely have been blacklisted when it was reported as 'lost/stolen' so it wouldn't work as a phone again
At this point its blacklisted once reported. What you do with sim doesn't matter.
