Adding music to iPhone 4 using linux: Ubuntu?

I have some songs that I have and I wanted to add them to my iphone 4. They are normal mp3 files. I know I could run a virtual machine but I was just looking for something a little less complicated.

Don't know

Apple HATES openness, so they hate Linux (I leave the a in apple not capitalized because I do not believe they deserve it). As far as i know you can't add music with any Linux based distros. Since I hate apple more than apple hates Linux, I own no apple products, not will I even touch an apple product. So I can't verify if this works, but I have heard that it it possible if you have a jailbroken phone (apple wanted to sue all those that jailbroke their phone - federal regulators told apple that they can't http://www.wired.com/...lbreaking/ ) or running itunes through Wine.

I recommend going with an Android phone instead of an iphone. There are some drawbacks, but you will be amazed at how it just works with everything (and many phone makers will help you in rooting the phone http://lifehacker.com/...t+friendly )

Android uses the Linux kernel.

  • Will adding music to my iPhone slow it down? I'm getting an iPhone 5 this friday and i want to know if adding music to it will somehow slow it down? I currently have 253 songs on my itunes and i'm getting a 16GB iPhone. Will it affect the way the iPhone works? I have an ipod touch as well. The newest kind. I just wanna know if i should add music or just carry around my phone AND my ipod.
  • This payment method can't be used with the iTunes Store. Try again using another payment method. I get this error when adding PayPal? As a payment method. I live in the US and this is an option. I've contacted my bank, iTunes and PayPal and they say their is no problems at their ends so what is going on and how can I fix this. Btw I use to use PayPal as a payment method
  • Putting music on iphone 4s using ubuntu? So i'm running ubuntu on my laptop so don't have itunes and can't get itunes on there. I'm just wandering what i can use to put music on my iphone 4s. I tried banshee but won't work with my phone although i managed to put music on my sisters ipod using it. Just wanted to know if anyone else knows what i can use to do it? And i can't reinstall windows on to it as i don't have a disc.
  • How to unpack a tar file on Ubuntu? I'm trying to install java on Ubuntu (I'm new to it) and I'm getting no luck on the terminal. I tried using synaptic but that didn't work either. Any idea on how to install this onto my desktop? It would be helpful (I'm unfamiliar with terminal except for when I've jail broken my iphone).
