Afraid my computer will crash?

At the end of spring semester my computer crashed and I had work done on it. Basically got a whole new internal computer. But since I've gotten work done it's blue screened twice. I have barely used my computer this summer because I have an iphone and it does most of what I need. However, school is about to start again and I use my computer a lot more. I use it to take notes in class and to write papers. I fear my computer will crash at anytime and I'll lose everything. I have dropbox. Which I store all of my important documents and photos in but what about while I'm writing a paper. How should I be saving if I fear my computer will crash? To a flash drive? Is there an online way I can save my papers as I'm writing so it saves even if my computer crashes? Is there a better system than dropbox for my other stuff?

First I would agree that for documents etc a flash drive would be good.

For finished work I would burn the data to a cd or dvd for safe keeping as flash drivers are known to go down as well.8.

Use the dropbox as an additional storage.

The only way to be sure to save in the event of a crash is to save very frequently!

Ideally you should have an external usb hard drive to regularly save your whole system, that is several copies over 3 days so you can get it back if it gets badly corrupted.

What bsod's are you getting?

What are the error messages and any associated file names?

And it's a lot better if you could find a solution to that blue screen… Try updating some drivers or see if any of your hardware is causing any issue…

Get a thumb drive, copy your key files to the thumb drive every week or so.
