After downloading mavericks osx, computer volume gets real low when using FaceTime?

I just did the mavericks update on my macbook pro. Before the update, when I'd use FaceTime (on macbook pro, not iPhone) I could still listen to music (iTunes, youtube, etc). After doing the update, now when I use FaceTime, I can't listen to music. The music will play but it's way too low to hear anything. After I end the call, my sound goes back to normal, I'm guessing this is one of the power saving methods apple incorporated. Does anyone know how to make my sound work normally again while face timing?

  • Why is the volume so low on my iphone? My family jut got 3 new iphone 4's last night. When someone calls us or we call them, the volume is very low. It is like they are in a tunnel or something. I did turn the phone volume all the way up with the sidebars and the plastic is off of the phone. Any suggestions?
  • Why is my iPhone volume so low? I just got an iPhone 4S. The sound works fine on speaker, YouTube videos, etc., but when I make a phone call, the volume is very very low. When I put it on speaker it is fine though. Any troubleshooting, solutions, help?
  • When I make calls on my iPhone 7, the sound is very low, although the volume is all the way up Unless I put it on SPEAKER, I can hear it ok? As soon as the call goes on speaker I can hear who I'm calling perfect. If its not on speaker I hear their voice VERY VERY LOW, although the volume is all the way up. I have tried moving my settings around and such, I can't find a solution.
  • Should i download mavericks os x? I have a mac book pro version 10.5.8 i have ios 7 on my iphone my itunes isn't up to date because my computer isn't up to date, therefore it won't let me plug my phone into my computer. i've heard some bad tings about mavericks. Should i get it or just get mountain lion. i really only care about getting my itunes to work.
