After getting iOS 7.1, my iPhone 5c takes forever to type. What do I do?

My phone was fine before. But after the newest software update, it's terrible. The control center won't show up on the home screen or within apps, just on the lock screen. Yes, I've checked my settings for this. Also, whenever I try to type something in any app (including messages) it's very delayed. I just go ahead and type something and wait for it to catch up - which usually takes 5 minutes. It's very frustrating.
I have tried turning it on and off again at least 3 times, but it hasn't changed anything. I have also turned off documents and data in the iCloud, but it's still the same. I also switched it back to factory settings but nothing is different. I really don't want to have to go to the genius bar - someone please help!

It won't get any better obviously OS7 is not compatable with the hardware you have. Your phone is too old, it doesn't have a fast enough processor or enough RAM or both.
Downgrade it again to the old version should fix it.

You have a 5C (the 2nd newest phone) so IOS 7.1 should be working just fine and improve your phone. You already reseted it and turned off the documents and things from iCloud but it still lags? The only thing i could think of is that you have a software mistake. Take it to the Apple Store in your area and tell them what's going on. They will know more than us.
