Am I really too skinny? Scary skinny?

Whenever I look in the mirror, I'm disgusted because I can see my chest bones and my collar bones. Doctor says I'm not underweight because of my bodytype and height. I'm 20, 4'9 or 5'1 and weigh around 86 - 89lbs. I'm size 1 - 5 in pants in shorts (depending on the pants or shorts coz I have size 5 shorts that fit me) and size xs or s in tops. I also have really tiny wrists. Anyways, here's a picture of my collar bones. It's an iPhone picture so it's not really clear but you can defiantly see my collar bones and a little bit of my chest bones. Is this unhealthy looking? Is it something I should worry about? Am I really too skinny Scary skinny

Your weight is too low. This is unhealthy. You need a new doctor. I can't imagine that a licensed physician would think that 5'1 and 89 pounds was anything other than medically underweight.

They do protrude but they are not horribly bad. It doesn't seem to be an unhealthy level but you definitely have room to gain weight without worrying. You just have a small frame and a high metabolism. This isn't totally uncommon. If you continue to drop weight you may need to worry.

Just because you can see your collar bones doesn't mean that you are too skinny. If you're concerned that you are too skinny then maybe you should see a doctor or look at a chart that shows how much you should weigh depending on your age and height. Personally I think you look fine, but if you yourself are worried about this, then maybe something is wrong. And that picture is not accurate enough to show how skinny you are.

It's fine as long as you don't have an eating disorder. If you got that way by starving yourself then yes, it is an issue. But if you are naturally like that then its fine.

The Doctor is correct that a weight of 86 - 89lbs for a 20 year old girl that is 4'9" is a healthy weight. Good for you. If you are 5'1", that is underweight. Therefore, I recommend you begin exercising. Pushups will increase the size of the muscles around the collar bones making them less noticeable. Include a full range of exercises to maintain overall health & body symmetry.
