Any way to connect my iPhone to Alesis iO2 for recording from my studio mic for SMULE?
Hi. Hope you're well. Thanks for stopping by to help me. 2 questions really: 1. Any way to connect my iPhone to Alesis iO2 for recording from my studio mic for SMULE? 2. Also, I don't like/don't have anymore the Cubex software that came with the Alesis iO2 express, so is there another software I can use instead to monitor my sound levels, equalize and maybe even do effects etc… That the Alesis will work with? I'm not sure if I can just open my favorite audio editing software and "choose"(?) that USB port, if even possible?
It's a class-compliant device so should work, it's just that a phone or tablet can't provide enough power.
You need an externally powered USB hub, plus a genuine Apple "Camera Connect" adapter, which has a lightning plug and a female USB socket as on a PC.
Connect the PC side of the hub to the phone via the adapter and the audio interface to one of the hub ports.
Something like this would probably be suitable:

And the adapter for the phone:

For PC / Mac use, you don't need any specific driver, Alesis just gives a link to ASIO4ALL in case your software needs Asio:

Grab a copy of Tracktion for recording software, it about the best you can get at any cost and an old version is completely free
- Will my singing voice sound better recorded on a professional mic in a studio? & does it get edited? All I have to record me singing is my iPhone & I think I sound awful over that & it makes me sad & say horrible things that I suck
- Recording Commentary's with which mic? I have a headset in hand for recording commentary's, it is the turtle beach px22, but i also have an iPhone 5s which has good audio that i could record and replace the audio track with. Which mic has a better quality?
- Is there any way of recording your iPhone screen? Is there any way of taking a video of an iPhone screen (like a screen-capture but a video) or is there any app you could get that would enable this?
- Is there any difference between the beats wireless studio 2 and the brand new studio 3 wireless headphones? I currently have the beats pro that I bought a few years ago and I have the new iPhone 8 and it doesn't take a headphone jack unless you buy the special adapter which isn't godly expensive like $5-7. But to me that defeats the purpose of the phone. I was just curious as to if there are any key differences between the two and if so, what are they? Which would you prefer the two? Or maybe even keeping my headphones and getting the adapter?
