Apple iPhone 5s or Sony Xperia Z1?

I'm about to get a new smartphone and I set my mind on getting the Sony Xperia Z1
as time gets closer for me to buy the phone
i'm starting to think twice about which phone i should get, now i'm also looking at the iPhone 5s

I wanted to get the Xperia Z1 cause of the specs inside and also cause its waterproof cause i live in a place where rain is almost everyday lol

but i don't know there's always something special about iphone
i've owned one

i've had blackberry's and iphones
this will the first phone with android ill ever owned
i've used them before (friends & fam) but haven't really owned one

Would like to hear your opinion on which you would get & why?

Go for the iphone if you have the money, cause atleast it will last longer.

Don't ask what we will get. It is more of a question of which OS are you comfortable with: Android or iOS?

OtterBox and other manufacturers sell aftermarket cases for iPhones which are shock-proof and water-proof, so that takes care of your rainy-season problems. If you're already used to iOS, why not stay? I'm not an iOS fan and I know it's not for me even though I can say that the iPhone 5 is fluid and works without lag.

I'll be getting the Sony Xperia Z1 over the iPhone 5S due to the ff.:
-high-end processor
-Sony's commitment in updating even their mid-range phones
- its UI being close to stock Android which offers more fluid experience than other manufacturer's (Samsung's?) phones
-20.77m camera
-a lot less expensive than iPhone 5S

But that's for me, and it's a different case for someone who found something special on iOS. IPhone 5S has its own pros too, like its more stunning IPS display and 64-bit processor which Infinity Blade devs said made an improvement in gaming.

It is your choice.
With the Iphone you will have the same as everyone else. Can't do a lot to make it yours. They won't last any longer than the z1 and for what you're gonna pay, they don't fit the bill.
Android, you can customise and make it unique, make it your own. It's also a much better looking device.It'll last just as long as the 5s.
An added bonus is android hasn't got as many huge gaping security holes as ios.

There's nothing special about the bump from the iPhone 5 to the iPhone 5s. But the Z1 on the other hand has a lot of features that you can go wow about. Take the waterproof feature like you mentioned, or the camera which is much better. However I advise you to view this it is a comparison between the two.
