Are 60 floors the same thing as flights of stairs?

This may be a silly question, but if my iphone tells me that i went 60 floors is that 60 flights of stairs? Is that the same as just climbing a 60 floor building?

i'm beginning training for a charity event where we will climb a 105 story building. I have been practicing by climbing 60 "floors" a day so far. So how am i doing? Lol

Jesus… That's a lot of stairs! Keep it up, but not just for training. This is good stuff for your whole life although 60 floors is a bit much.

And yes - 60 floors is 60 sets of steps. You can count them. A step is usually around 7 inches tall - and each floor is probably about 12 feet… So that's 20 or 21 steps per floor.

Traditionally, in large buildings, there are 2 flights and a return per floor. Building stairwells in this manner requires 1/2 the square footage of floor space, as opposed to a single flight per floor.
