Are CDs still relevant?
Are they? Or does everyone just get iTunes or whatever
Well, SORT of. It is doubtful that people threw their CDs away, and download can become corrupted from viruses…
They have their place, sometimes I use them in my car if the radio sucks or is out of range, but other than that, and for other fringe benefits, largely obsolete. They'll probably not completely disappear for decades more either.
I have recently bought cd's from a few local bands, really it's kind of like tipping them. They get $10 for a CD that cost them $2, but if I enjoyed the band that's ok by me.
I did rip some mp3's from a Traveling Wilbury's disk recently, but mostly I download videos of live performances from Youtube, then strip out the audio track and save that to microSD chip. I used to stream Youtube alot, but moved out of the city where only internet is satelitte, streaming is too expensive and works poorly. I live in a remote hilly area, phone reception is too flakey for itunes/spotify.
I think they are. I can buy CDs for a dollar at most thrift stores, and most will rip to your audio files. Some are beyond saving. The selection is usually dismal, but every once in a while I get real lucky. The other day I found Jerry Cantrell's "Boggy Depot" and Tool's "Undertow" and it cost me two dollars. They both looked brand new.
I don't know what you mean by "relevant." I still have CD's.
Yes. While physical CDs can break, they also can be copied. Meanwhile songs supported by things such as I-tunes can just vanish, a problem that has happened to a lot of people.
As another user said, it depends on what you mean by relevant. I still have a bunch of CDs.
- Would I be cheaper buying lots of singles from iTunes or a portable CD player and a bunch of CDs? I don't really like whole albums of songs and on iTunes they are so expensive about £1.00 per song and there's so many I want! I need them for work next week as I work very long hours and often the radio is turned off at Christmas time for being "offensive" Should I purchase a cheap player and lots of CD's? Or should I buy lots of loose songs and put them on my iPhone? I don't have much money at the moment.
- Is the iPhone 5s still relevant? I plan on going on a 2 year contract. The 6/6s are too expensive and I much prefer iOS over Android. Is the 5s still worth it? I'm worried it'll have a price drop or be outdated.
- Is the iPhone 5s still relevant in 2015? I plan on switching to iphone, I have a galaxy s6 right now but hear me out, I want an iphone but don't want to spend too much money, once I get one IIm going to give the galaxy to my mother, is the iphone 5s still worth it?
- Is iPhone 4s still relevant? I'm thinking of getting refurbished 64GB one for a very cheap price. Is it a good idea? My budget is quite limited so if I really have to dig my wallet that would get me 8GB 5C… Which is very small storage.
