Are deleted photos from an iphone gone for good?

When I was sleeping, my friends took a bunch of ugly & embarrassing pictures of me. Over 5 of them! I deleted them out and out of the recently deleted file, but I'm paranoid that you can still recover them. They are not backed up to anything because of how recent, and the last time I backed up my phone was when I got it 3 years ago. Nothing is synced on my phone. Are they gone for good?

With the right know how and software available today nearly anything can be recovered from phones.

You should be good, unless Photo Stream is turned on.

  • Jus uploaded iOS7 and all my photos are gone I'm so stressed right now! I've just updated iOS7 on my iPhone 4 and all of my 9000< are gone! Just missing! The main thing is that on iTunes it showed that there still was 14gb taken with photos, but now (after ~5mins) it shows that "the others" is 14gb. I'm afraid to click to iCloud because I don't think I saved anything there, and I'm aslo afraid to re-start my phone… WHAT TO DOOO, wise people?
  • If I delete Photos on my Mac in the Photos app, will it get deleted from my other devices? I have photos in my Photos app on my Macbook that are from my iPhone. If I delete them on my macbook, will it get deleted on my phone too?
  • If an app is deleted is the history gone? For instance, if you delete the YouTube app, is everything you've done on it deleted from the iPod/iPhone? And when you re-download it is it a new start on the device?
  • I just clean wiped my iPhone 3 and all of my photos are gone? Ok so, I had heaps of unwanted albums on my phone so I decided to wipe it and start it afresh. However, all of my photos are now gone. Now this is not a surprise to me, I'm just wondering how do I get my camera roll back? I synced it before and backed it up right before I wiped it but now my photos can't be found on the computer either? Any ideas? I don't want all of the other albums, just my general camera roll? Is that possible?
