Are glass screen protectors bad for your eyes?
About 4 months ago I smashed the screen on my iohone 5 and the guy in the shop who replaced my screen suggested that I get a glass screen protector as it's the best thing to stop the screen smashing again. It's really thick, so thick that the button at the bottom isn't flat to the phone like on an iPhone without screen protector, you can feel where the glass is thicker on the surface. However it seems to have polarised my display and seems to have a flickery display? I got used to it after a couple days but whenever anyone looks at my phone they ask me what's wrong with it because it flickers? I don't notice it anymore. But my friend warned me it could ruin my eyesight. I don't know if it's the screen protector doing this though or that the man messed up my new screen and that's what's flickering. Anyone know the answer as to whether it's bad for my eyes?
I only mean from the flickering, not just because it is a glass screen. Obviously it's not going to ruin my eyes just because it is glass
Just putting a glass cover over a phone screen will not cause it to flicker, so any "flickering" is either a optical illusion or a problem with the actual screen. I would get it looked at at an Apple Store to see if the flickering you are talking about is an actual phone problem.
Also the glass screen protector will not ruin your eyes, because if it did, generations of people wearing non prescription clear glasses for fashion or reading, or tinted glasses for sun protection, anyone with windows, glass topped coffee table or reading menus at restaurants under glass top tables or cathode ray tube TV, would all have gotten ruined eyes.
- Is shining an LED light in your dogs eyes bad? I was making a video of my dog on my iPhone. I was late at night( because that's when she's calmed down) do i used the flash on my phone. She was close the the phone and I'm really worried that i ruined her eyes. She's a five month old German shepherd.
- Is it bad to shine a light in your eyes for a long time? If so what could happen? When I take my muscara off some of the black stuff end up in my eye and I use my iPhone touch light to see in my eye and take out the black stuff. Can anything happen to my eyes if I keep doing this?
- Is having two screen protectors on my iPhone a bad idea? I'm getting my iPhone 5 soon and I have two Otterboxes ordered: defender and commuter. I want to put the adhesive screen protector on that comes with the commuter series anyway, but if I put the defender series case on, will the two screen protectors cause a problem together (bubbles, rainbow)? In a situation where I have no case, I want to have the screen protector on.
- IPhone glass screen protectors? If I get a glass screen protector how safe is my phone from shattering? I just upgraded from a 5 to a 5c and don't want to use a case all the time if I don't have to and was thinking maybe a glass screen protector would give me more protection?
