Are iPhones always using internet data?
Two of my room mates have an iPhone that are connected to our Wi-Fi. Even when they're not browsing the internet with their phones and their phones are just sitting there, are they still using data from the internet? If we go over our internet data for the month we have to pay extra for every gigabyte that we use, so I'd like to know if their phones are taking internet data.
Yes there's a chance there iPhones are using data. There are always things running on an iPhone. Let's say for Whatsapp, the iPhone needs to search for incoming messages every now and then so that uses data. Although that doesn't use a lot of data, it still uses data. If they are downloading an app but lock there phone, there phone is still downloading the app and using data.
- Will I get charged for using 3G Internet if I have the unlimited data plan? My carrier is Sprint. I have an iPhone 4. I'm asking if I'll be charged if I don't use Wi-Fi.
- Why does my iPhone still charge for Internet even when I'm not using Internet? So, I recently got a pay monthly plan with my new iPhone 4s. When i'm out and about I'm usually updating my twitter and Facebook account. But, when I'm put my phone down, 3G still says I'm using it and charging me. So do I have to turn it off when i'm finished? Or is there a much easier way?
- Is internet always free when using Wi-Fi on an iphone? So my parents cancled my phone service and i can't text and call but i go go on the internet. If i'm using my Wi-Fi and connected to the modem in my house its free and is unlimited and won't show up on the phone bill right? And I have sprint i don't know if that matters.
- IPhone keeps using data instead of home Internet? I have an iPhone 4. When I'm at home, my phone randomly starts using data (3G) instead of my home Internet connection. Because of this, I'm really close to passing my monthly data limit. Is there anyway that I can prevent my phone from going to data at home, something in the settings maybe?
