Are iphones virus proof?
How is this possible? Every one says iPhones are virus proof.
"Virus Resistant" would be more accurate.
Apple has put a lot of thought into security and tweaks the operating system often to close recently discovered holes that could be used to get around security. They are also picky about the behavior of programs approved for the app store. No system is perfect, though, as spacemissing notes.
I'd say one of the reasons is because Apple locks down iOS to where you can only officially download apps through the App Store. They also test apps to make sure that they're virus free. However, there have been some apps that have managed to slip by with malware on them. Though Apple quickly removes them.
