Are my future kids going to have the same childhood as me?
I remember playing out in my back yard till dawn, waking up an hour early before tv cartoon programmes started because it always took me an hour to get up xD sabrina the teenage witch, saved by the bell, ed edd and eddy, two of a kind, arthur I remember when these programmes had adverts for NEW series and now they just show re-runs, I remember the rare times I went to the huge shopping centres and how I had my birthday parties in the back garden with balloons and cakes, alot of the 80's music was still around, y favourite song then was 'don't your forget about me' by simple minds: P I also remember when vogue was really famous for years xD
I just wanted to know whether my future children were going to have the same childhood, because mine was awesome and… Technology-free. I dislike the young kids of this generation who, already at 9, have expensive iphones and everything, are they gonna have an awesome childhood as mine or has technology changed the world and there's no hope?
You won't be able to control what goes on in the outside world, but you CAN control the amount of TV they watch, you can control when they get a cellphone and how they use it (hint: make them pay for All the usage), you can control what they eat and wear and how they spend a large part of their free time.
If you can use all that time while they're still young, to train them in the knowledge that you don't NEED technology to be happy, that you should use it when it's helpful but not be obsessed by it, then they have a good chance of growing up as balanced adults.
Probably not. The government is going to be "big brother", watching our every move with sophisticated electronics, and tell us how to act and think (for our own good). And with global warming and pollution, blue sky's and green grass may become extinct. But, at least everybody will have a cell phone that can pick up 5000 TV shows and movies.
- With major tech companies, how detailed of road maps do they have regarding future products? Such as Google or Apple. With the road maps that they keep a secret, how far out do they usually make their decisions on what to include in products. Such as, do you think Apple already has a very good idea of what the specs will be of the iPhone that's announced in September of next year or even the following year?
- Why do so many kids have iphones, blackberrys, and smart phones? I mean little kids as young as 5 years old. It really does annoy me because they are little and don't need a really expensive phone just for emergencies. I always see them on the phones and ipods. My brother is almost in middle school and has the cheapest phone. And i'm in highschool and my phone is nowhere near the expesive phones the elementary kids have infact my phone is used so i got for free.
- Why do 20th century born people think they had a better childhood than us 21st century borns? People born before 2000 think they had a good childhood. How stupid are they? The 20th century was the most violent century of all times so you can get killed or hurt back then. As a 2000 born, I think I can easily say the 2010s dominates the '90s, the '90s wasn't good anyway. The '90s sitcoms were stupid, the '90s music sounded like a man farting on a public restroom, movies were boring, games were stupid, no iphones/social media existed, etc.
- What does this generations childhood look like? If you grew up in the 90s, then you remember VCR's, hit clips, passing notes in class, Etc. What does 2014s childhood generation look like? I feel like all they have is iPhones…
