Are there any hidden fees with the Trade you old iPhone in and receive a new iPhone 6?

I would like to get the iPhone 6 with the trade-in plan and I was wondering, are there any hidden fees? Like to transfer your number on to the new phone or anything like that?

Depends on the carrier and such. I know most carriers don't charge to port the number. The trade in value of iPhones are VERY low. You would be better off selling it on Craigslist instead and getting more money.

My bad I forgot to include that its with the Verizon plan

Not really a hidden fee, but the company that handles the trade-in, also tells Verizon whether or not then phone being traded is in good condition or not. So whatever the estimated value from the website, may be MUCH less, when they get it and evaluate the trade. So that LIKE new trade-in, according to the website, can become a poor or damaged phone and worth only a few dollars in the space of 4 to 6 weeks.

So unless the evaluation is done face to face (and their not), you takes your chances when sending it in. So document the condition with pictures and whatever you can, before sending a copy of said documentation with the phone when you ship it to the trade in center.

I have friends that if not for their photo documentation and a better shipping container than was sent, they would have gotten a gift card worth $10 for their iPhones, that were reported to have water damage and broken screens. But they took their phones to one of the carrier stores to get it confirmed as to the condition of the phones, before sending them in. The reason for getting photos before hand, is they WILL NOT ship the phones back to you.

They make their money by giving you less then its worth on trade in, but its also work for you to sell it on your own so trading in isn't such a bad deal.
