Yes. Major cellular providers usually let you upgrade your phone every 18 months. But I got tired of consonantly paying 24-29 dollars on a monthly lease and bought out my iPhone.
Now I own it free and clear. No trade-in for me.
Depends on the carrier/seller. Trade in promos and policies vary and may or may not be limited to certain phones that are even eligible for trade in fir the newer model. So the first thing to do is contact the carrier's customer service, their in store reps and their web sites for trade in offers. Why all three? Because many times the promo is short lived or only via cetain times.

- Is it haram to buy goods not knowing where they come from? So these black guys came to my husband with iPhones etc and asked if he wanted to buy anything and he did. I got angry because I'm sure these people are thieves! I have no proof to say this, but where else would they get it from? I refuse to buy haram or have any haram money. He disagrees.
