What? No, when they were released the iPhone 5 costed 199 and the 5S will cost 199. No difference. Except the iPhone 5S is the biggest waste of money on a phone ever. Honestly, such a disappointment, same with the 5C

The iPhone 5 off contract is $549, and the 5S is $849 off contract. You were looking at the iPhone 5 as off contract, but the iPhone 5s on contract.
All phones are sold at two prices - the cheaper price you pay if you also are getting a new contract or upgrading, and the much higher retail price that you pay if you don't want a contract or need a phone before your upgrade.
You're just comparing the retail price of the 5 to the new contract price of the 5S. If you compared the same price for both, the 5 would be cheaper.

- My iPhone keeps asking me for my apple I. D password? I changed my apple Id and password. Whenever I go to the App Store from my iPhone it asks for my new password to my new apple id which is good. But at random times when I'm texting or something, the old Id will pop up and asks me to type in my password. I don't know how to fix this but it's driving me crazy. :/
