At what age would you allow you kids to have iPhones and why?

I wouldnt pay for an iphone, its really expensive and not strictly necessary, they could have a phone that did similar things, but cost a lot less.
if they wanted to get a saturday job or a paper round to pay for the iphone then i suppose i would allow that.

Please also give a reason

12. After school activities

I'd make them buy it if they really wanted one.

I would say 15, because I don't think kids younger than that should be exposed to some of the things/ apps you can get on iPhones. Also I don't think children under 15 should be encouraged to spend all their time on their phone by having an iPhone (they will probably end up spending all their time on Facebook or Twitter etc).

When they are mature enough and NOT SPAMMING INSTAGRAM OR TWITTER WITH THEIR B.S. Also if he or she wants a phone let her or him buy it because that will truly show that they are old enough to get one.

I got my first phone, an iPhone when I was 11. My younger sister who is 9 has my old iPhone 3. My parents have put lots of parental locks and banned her from such apps and always check what she's searching on the internet and who she is texting.
