Attached photo not showing up in Mac mail?

I'm extremely frustrated because when people send me attached photos, they are not showing up and there's no icon to click or anything (like there usually is). Photos only show up sometimes. The ones that show up on my iPhone when you scroll to the bottom of the conversation can't be opened on the computer because there's NOTHING THERE to click on.

What do you mean by "showing up"?

A photo can be attached as a file or can be embedded into the message (like on a website page).

Possibilities for what you might mean…

"The photo files are not even attached to the message as an option to download."
Then the sender did not attach the file. Everyone makes mistakes.

"Mail message shows that a file is attached, but it is not viewable inside the Mail window."
OK, for that, download the attachment.

If you want to play the "use my Mail app like FaceBook" game, do this…
- With Mail open, go to the top menu bar, Mail > Preferences.
- Select the "Viewing" tab.
- Put a check for "Display remote images… "
NOTE: Although it is very cute, this option is not secure. The process to allow remote images to appear in Mail can also allow malware to download unknown to you.

IF YOU WANT TO TEST YOUR MAIL APP, DO THIS…
- Compose an email message, attach one or two photo files, and send it to… YOURSELF!
- Wait one minute… And then "Get Mail" for that account.
- If you get that email message and can see the attached file, all is well.

  • Twitter updates only showing on e-mail? So when I turn on my iPhone, twitter updates show up saying so and so favortied my tweet or retweeted my tweet and things like that. But when I go into twitter, it doesn't show up. I'll try to see who favorited my tweet, and it will only show the first person who favorited it.
