Battery life of iPhone and iPod touch compared?

I have an iPod touch (4th generation) and I was think about getting the iPhone 4s (or iPhone 5 now) and I was wondering how the battery life on the iPhone. And don't tell me to look at the specs, I want to know from personal experience. My issue is that I use my current cell phone (Samsung Transform Ultra) and my iPod a lot everyday and they both have low battery by night time. I was thinking of getting the iPhone, but I feel since I drain my phone and iPod now, wouldn't an iPhone battery's run out faster? I don't feel like charging something 3 times a day. I use a lot of apps, listen to music and use the internet on my iPod now

In my experience, the iPod touch and iPhone battery life is very similar. Under normal usage, you should easily be able to get through a day, and still have plenty of charge left by night. Android phones are notorious for having bad battery life, but iPhone's are known for having the best battery life. The battery life on devices deteriorates after 500 cycles, so if you have charged your iPod touch more than 500 times, that is why the battery is so bad, and it will get worse as you continue to use it. With the iPhone 5, you can expect to get about 8 hours of web browsing at medium brightness. Apple's battery statistics are often right, and are they don't lie.
