Best format for ripping dvd's that all apple devices recognize?
I have over 750 DVD's and I'm struggleing to store them, so i was going to rip all of them and store the DVD's in our loft. What is the best format to use that my ipad, ipad mini 2, apple tv, imac, macbook pro and iPhone can all recognize and that Itunes will recognize?
I'm currently using any video converter ultimate, however it has different formats for all these devices, is there one universal format. I don't mind buying different software.
MPEG-4/H.264 (a.k.a. H.264/MPEG-4 AVC a.k.a. X264)
That's it, no matter how many nicknames it gets. That's the one. It's the default format for any Apple video software or device (QuickTime, iMovie, iPod, iPad, iPhone), as well as Youtube, Flickr, DailyMotion, and FaceBook.
You will choose different resolution and bit rate depending on the device and the file size you can tolerate. For example, to playback on a 22-inch computer screen or 50-inch TV, you might want 1080p (1920x1080) and 1500 kbps, if the original DVD is HD. For small devices, Any Video Converter Ultimate has a drop list to choose, and it then sets the size to match the device screen.
- What's the best iPhone 5 video-to-DVD converter to use on a PC? I'm trying to convert a friend's iPhone 5 videos to a DVD for her, I just don't know the best one to get. Doesn't matter if we have to pay, I just want something that will work & output a good finished quality. Any suggestions?
- What is the best iPhone app that shoots in high quality TIFF/RAW format? I'm looking for an app that shoots higher quality images than the default iPhone camera takes. I have an iPhone 5s if that matters at all.
- What devices have HDMI output other than DVD/Blu-ray players, game consoles, and some computers? I have a monitor, I wonder what kind of devices can project their images onto the screen other than video players and game consoles. Any way to project the image of my tablet/phone onto the screen?
- ITunes doesn't recognize devices? When I plug in my iPhone 5 and iPod touch, iTunes does not recognize that there's a device plugged in. There's nothing wrong with the cords/usb ports as I'm able to access the devices through "my Computer". Everything (iTunes, Windows 8, devices) is updated to the current version. Therefore, I'm not able to sync anything from my iTunes to my phone and iPod. How do I fix this?
