I really need to be techno geek. I'm looking for some best apps which gives knowledge about technology. Just like that website (howstuffworks).

I wanna be a guy to whom someone asks any questions and he would be able to explain them. Even i'm studying computer engineering.

If you want good, technical information you would be better just using google to search for information or read books.

If using the internet then don't just read one page, there's a lot of bad information on the internet, so read around. Information in books is generally accurate, but by the time it is published it is often already outdated.

IT is a pretty big topic, and you're not going to learn everything about every area. Once you've read about certain areas you will want to expand your knowledge in them, but you should try to learn the basics of as many areas as possible, as they will all be useful at some point.

You should definitely learn the basics of networks and security, and you should learn about different operating systems which you can do by downloading a program to run virtual machines, which will allow you to run Linux or OSX boxes on top of your Windows system. Examples of these programs are VMWare player or VirtualBox.
