I heard that there's some extra space in the defender case and the phone moves around, anyone experienced that?

No, I don't think so. I simply love this case. The fit is great and very snug. It gives the phone super protection. Yes, it does add volume to your phone to say the least. So if you want a small dainty case this is not for you. But if you want a sturdy case that really protects your phone this is it. And the screen protector does not hinder the touch screen ability at all. A great case for the money.
