Best place to buy a used iPhone? Or should I buy new?

I currently have an older smartphone with Verizon Wireless. I was going to renew my contract and get an iphone from them but I currently have an unlimited data plan and if I get a new contract it will go away because they don't offer it anymore.
I'm looking on craigslist for used iphones. I'm very aware of scammers and know to check for water damage, sends calls, texts, connects Wi-Fi, etc. I'm only finding iphones for $300 though. People are selling it more than they paid.
I was also thinking about just playing it safe and buying a brand new iphone. But money is tight and 750 is a lot to spend on just a phone…

If you have enough money go for new phone. If you don't have enough mony its nothing wrong to choose good second hand phone.

If you have the least bit of doubt about buying a used smartphone of any type, just don't. Get some use out of your older smartphone until you save up for a new one, if you're OK with that.

I don't recommend craigslist at all for something like this.sites like Amazon and eBay help to eliminate scammers. Its good to know *who* the seller of the phone is, to help reduce the changes there will be problems.someone on craigslist might want to meet you somewhere, and sell you something with malware or something not very functional.
