Black screen of death occurred on my iphone 4?

Few days back i bought a new iPhone 4 and today black screen of death occurred on my iPhone. Now my iPhone is fine. I pressed the lock button and the home screen button together. I just want to know why the black screen of death occurred as i didn't drop it or put it in water and it is new as well. Is it normal? Is my new iPhone fine?

Don't worry it's fine. There's nothing a hard reset can't solve if anything else happens

I've tried holding the power button and the home button to try to reboot, but it does not work. The phone seems to still be working normally other than the screen.   • Iphone has white screen black apple logo frozen it occasionally goes black then that screen shows up again screen went red once? I held the home and power buttons and it showed me that the battery was super low with the little red lines hasn't shown me that since now it's just frozen on black apple logo with white background and the screen flickers occasionally i've had it plugged into the wall charging for 2 hours now and still nothing should I go get it looked at by apple or do I just leave it charging longer?
  • IPhone 3GS White Screen Of Death? I've dropped my iPhone before (stupid, I know) but overall, no damage would come to it. Yesterday, it slipped from my hand AGAIN and when I picked it up, it had the WSOD (white screen of death). Unlike most WSOD cases though, I can still faintly see the upper right corner where it shows the battery icon and the lock icon when the phone's locked. I can still unlock it, and play music, and use apps, but overall nothing is visible except for the upper right corner. How do I fix it?
