Because they realize it's an overpriced piece of pop-culture fluff.
So they can buy the latest model.
To get maximum value. Once the iPhone 7s or 8 launch date gets closer more and more people will be selling their iPhones. It'll flood the market which drives down the price. By selling it now before the flood they'll get the most money.
I'm not seeing that. People are buying them, not selling them.

My final sale fee $1100. However, ebay charged me a final sale fee of $135 Then I was charged $40 by paypal Then I paid $60 total to ship both items. On my amazon account I sold 1 phone. The phone cost $180 Amazon took out $30 Shipping cost $10 So I made $140
