Bought a new iphone 4s, for how long should i charge it?

I bought a new iphone 4s, but i don't know for how long i should charge it for the first time only, when i buy a new phone i charge it for a whole day, should i do the same with this one? Please don't make up answers because i don't want my battery to burn down, thank you, all answers appreciated.

Until it reaches 100%

For the 4s (as it doesn't have the lightning cable) leave it connected to the mains adaptor and turned off for approximately 6 hours. After that it'll be fine for its long life of heavy usage.

Charge it until it says 100%. If you want your battery life to be extended you should let it run down to below 15% and recharge it at least once a month.

The reason being is every time you charge your phone it only moves the ions in the part of the battery that needs charging. If you let it run down low it moves the ions in more of the battery allowing it a longer battery life.
