Brand new iPhone 5 died randomly and won't turn back on?

I've had my brand new iPhone on for 3 hours. I had it on for this whole time because I was trying to figure it out. All the sudden, the phone just shut off. Nothing will make it turn on, even holding down the center and power buttons on for the restart. Is my phone just defected? What can I do?

Umm. Have you tried connecting it to power? Do that first, the battery might just be dead. I've had experiences with new phones that came with only about 50% battery life, but I don't know about you.

I can't restart it because my home button doesn't work and i have to use assistive touch. It won't show up on itunes when i tried to plug it in.
