Broken Apple Iphone 5 lightning cable?

The tip of my iphone 5 lightning cable got caught under something and ripped off exposing the wire. I got my phone in May and I have the limited 1 year warranty. Will it cover it?

Do you have insurance with your phone company? I don't think you can get a new charger through apple.

Yeah, it would cover it. You may get a replaced one from there. But note: the device itself has a one year warranty but the earphones or charger possess a six months warranty only. You are still under that period, so they would probably replace that one for you.

Most "Manufacturer's Warranties" cover anything that goes bad (bad manufacturing) with the device or accessories, but don't cover "Accidental Damage". Accidental Damage is generally anything like dropping, breaking, cracking, stepping on something…

To be sure contact or review the "Apple 'Accessories' Warranty" information online.
