Buy iphone 5s and ship international?
First off Happy Holidays to you all.
So my father is going to India in a couple of weeks and my sister in law wants to send her brother and iphone 5s. He lives in India and the idea is that she sends it with my dad who gives it to her brother who will activate it there. Question is how could we purchase the phone without a plan or contract and is it possible for him to activate it there and use it?

Sure. All Apple stores sell unlocked iPhones. He can buy them and then, just get prepaid service with one of several carriers.
