Buying an iphone 4s on craigslist?

I found an iphone 4s on craigslist its 60$ and it says "The only cosmetic issue is a chip" (i don't know what that is) and it says it is barely visable? Is it worth my time and deal?

Be sure it's not a stolen phone, and get all of the pwords (signon, cloud, itunes, etc) so that you can activate it.
btw-most carriers are giving them away for free with a 2year contract

Since the iPhone 4 and 5 have glass on the front and back, a chip may refer to a nick in the glass on the side. If it does not affect the touch screen it could be covered by a case.

If the battery holds a good charge and the phone is not stolen or under contract, $60 would be a good deal. Gazelle sells reconditioned 4s units starting at $159 for AT&T locked models, but you do get a short warranty.

Since it's a Craigslist sale, make sure you perform the transaction in a very public place, like a police station parking lot.
