Buying an iphone for the camera questions?

I want to get an iphone 6s for the camera alone;I ll be buying it off ebay, used. I want to be able to make long video s and to edit and upload to my computer. I don't want to use it for the phone.

I've been reading that phones are locked (i don't know what that means) I do to a point but does a lock phone mean I can't use it to handle my footage to edit and upload?

I was also wondering if later on i want to use the phone, will a cell phone company unlock my phone because i bought it used off of ebay?

When they say the phones are locked they mean it is only able to be used on 1 carrier, like T-Mobile for example. No it is not referring to being able to use the phone.

You'd need to activate the phone to be able to use it, even if you don't intend to, which is why it makes no sense to get an iPhone to not be an iPhone.

As far as wanting to use the phone later on, unlocks usually occur after checking with the carrier after a certain period of use passes.

I'd recommend getting an iPod touch or a dedicated camera.
