Calls me and blames it on a but dial?

I don't get it. Why does this guy call me but then blame it on a but dial? We use to date but he left me for his ex. They broke up and I started getting these "but dial" calls from him. But the thing is he has an iPhone with a locked screen and my number shouldn't be on the recent call list so how can he but dial me? When he called and I picked up he wouldn't talk until I said hello? Hello. And he'd act like he didn't know he called me. We started talking again and getting close but he's always hot and cold. I'm not allowed to have contact with him because of my parents so I usually text or call him from a texting app. So my regular phone number shouldn't be in his recent call list. But a few weeks ago I got a call from him on my regular phone number and when I answered he didn't say anything after I said hello? Hello. So I hung up and I texted him from the app and was like you called? And he's like my bad? And then I really wanted to get close again since he was giving me the cold shoulder. He ignores my texts alot and I kept texting him so I could tell I was getting annoying. I texted and called him he didn't answer. So I was like can you answer me? And he finally did and that day I was like I have alot to tell you since I haven't seen him in a while and he kept the convo up asking what's new and all that and I told him that I had work later. He didn't reply to that text but he called me and said he was at my work(he use to visit me alot) and he's like well you said you had work so I'm at the mall. But I didn't have work till an hour later. So I went early to see him and we were just talking. Then I left for work and he said to text him. Since I could tell I was getting annoying to him I didn't text him for two weeks hoping he would talk to me. Last night I saw that I had a missed call from him. I texted him this afternoon saying hey what's up I had a miss call from u. BUT HE DIDN't ANSWER AGAIN. What do I do? It couldn't be a but dial. Because it was on my regular #.

Maybe it WAS a but dial. Its pretty common with Iphones. My ex has an iphone and she mistakenly calls people all the time. Plus but dial has more than one meaning. A butt-dial means calling by mistake. Not necessarily dialing with your but…

I know someone who but dials all the time and it is impossible for them to hear anyone say hello because the phone is not next to their ear. Your ex is just playing mind games with you. Why on earth are you doing everything in your power to keep someone who doesn't think enough of you to give you the courtesy of being up front and not play with you? Why are you trying to be in contact with someone who ignores you? Save yourself a lot of heartache and pain and cut off all contact with this guy.
