Can a chromebook/wireless printer be set up to an iPhone hotspot/Wi-Fi?

Despite reports that chromebooks can be used with USB printers, I have had zero luck with them over a number of attempts (if you have experience with a certain one that's proven to work, I'm all ears, by the way).

In any case, I'm currently bound to an area with extremely spotty Wi-Fi, at best, so before I go out and purchase a wireless printer, I wanted to know if it was even possible to link both my chromebook and wireless printer to my iPhone hotspot to print. Trips to the UPS store for printing are adding up, so any information as to the above would be much appreciated!

  • Problem with wireless printer (officejet 6100)? I have a wireless hp printer hooked up to a toshiba laptop. I recently ran out of ink, so I replaced the black, but left the color empty. I had previously set it to black ink only printing, but now it says it is unable to print. I have tried from the laptop and my iphone, but every time it comes up saying I'm out of ink. But I had used it before with only the black ink. What should I do? It's a HP office jet 6100

I'd like a printer that has a sheet feeder for the scanner. Cyber Monday is right around the corner and I'm hoping to find a good deal.
  • Can I use my Elevate Hotspot as a Wireless Network? I have an Elevate Hotspot from AT&T that we use for our internet in the house. We live way out in the country and that's all we have available. I want to buy a Wi-Fi enabled printer so that I can airprint from our iphones and ipad.Am I able to connect the printer to the hotspot and print from our iOS devices, or do I need to purchase a router?
  • Can I set up a wireless router without a computer? My mac is in the shop, and I usually use the internet hooked up to it as Wi-Fi (shared network) for my iPhone, iPad, etc. I was wondering if I get a wireless router from Best Buy or whatever, do I need my computer to set it up? Or can I just plug it up into the internet modem and viola?
