Can a dish hopper automatically connect to an iPhone?

We have recently bought a dish hopper for our tv. My father claims that he is able to see what I'm watching on my iPhone through the tv. I don't see how that would be possible. Especially, since my iPhone is not connected to our hopper.

You can use the dish app. The little kangaroo on the tv commercial says so.

My name is Kimberly and I form part of the Social Media Department with DISH. It is a pleasure to assist you today. With our Hopper with Sling technology you can access all your live channels, everything on your DVR, and thousands of On Demand titles even when you're away from home through your mobile device. He has access to see what others are watching in the house by pressing the red hot key on the remote at his TV location but no access to what you are doing on your phone. So, if you have the DISH Anywhere app downloaded to your phone and you are watching live Tv on your phone, if your Dad presses the Red key on his remote (at his TV location) he has access to see what you are viewing on your phone, but only DISH related programming, only if you are slinging. Hope this helps, if you have any additional questions, feel free to reach me at: kimberly.escobar@dish.com
