Can a motorola surfboard 6141 (white) modem be setup by an iphone 5?
First-off, i don't have a PC to set it up with. WHAT IF… I connected the iphone's Lightning cable to the modem's usb port -- then with my iphone's browser, navigate to my isp's modem registry, and so on… I'm trying to avoid my isp's ridiculous setup fee! Thanks for your time.
Added (1). BTW. I have an apple tv, that will be hardwired to the modem for now, since i don't have a PC or a wireless router (Temporary).
What are you trying to setup?

Virtually all configuration is done on the wireless router.
That being said,
You can configure a router using a Wi-Fi device, however I don't recommend it.
If you lose the Wi-Fi connection with the router, you may not be able to access it again without a factory reset.
I would use a PC, laptop or other device with a Internet browser that can be attached to the wireless router via Ethernet.
FYI:
There's really no setup for a cable modem, it just needs to be connected to the coaxial cable from the provider and activated.
Most cable Internet providers use the cable modem's MAC address to activate the modem.
Every device that has a network interface has a unique MAC (Media Access Control) address. This is usually expressed in hexadecimal such as 10:25:A4:59:EF:1C
You'll have to call your cable provider with the MAC of the new modem so they can activate it on your account. The MAC address is usually printed on a sticker attached to the modem.
The only thing you have to do for a modem is call your provider and give them your MAC address.
Once they allow this, you should be able to open a browser with apple TV and go.
If they didn't hook up the cabling outside, you're kind of screwed though and would have to have an installation.
