CAN A TEEN GO BUY AN IPHONE 6?
Can a 15 year old go into a sprint store and pay a 12 month lease on an iPhone 6 or do I have to be 18? And what would be the steps on getting one? If you do know let me know, thanks in advance.
No. You can certainly go and buy one outright with no contract at the full price, but at 15 any financial contract you sign is legally unenforceable so nobody will offer you loans, credit cards or phone contracts until you're 18 years old.
Well coming from my experience, no. I'm 16 and I wanted to buy an iPhone 6 to. I went with my mom and they said you have to be 19 (at least in my area) for it to be in your name and to be on contract. They also asked for three pieces of i.d (birth certificate, drivers license and an card if I.D, in my case an Indian status card). I don't know if that how it works everywhere else, probably not, but that was crazy. My mom didn't want to have a contract for a cell phone for me and also didn't have all those I.D's, so no iPhone 6 for me.
You need good credit, and at 15 you most likely do not have any credit yet, good or bad, so your parent(s) would need to go with you and perhaps buy it for you even if you pay for it.
You MUST be 18 to be able to sign a legal contract, like a 2 year contract on a phone.
