Can an iphone be stolen from the mail?

My boyfriend ordered me an Iphone 5s Wednesday, he did overnight shipping so it'd get here faster. When Thursday came, he called in to check to see if it arrived and when he did he said it hadn't made it yet. But when I checked the tracking info it said the phone had already arrived. Wtf? He said he'd keep me posted on it, but it's Friday and he hasn't said anything about it. Does it sound like my phone was stolen? Like are iphones shipped discreetly in like brown boxes or do they get shipped in the white iphone boxes you see people on YouTube with when they do the unboxing videos?

Added (1). Also, my boyfriend was at work when the phone arrived but on the Fedex tracking page it said it was signed for by someone else. My boyfriends name is Danny Taggart but it was signed for by someone named "D. Walton"

It sounds like a simple error. Call the post office and have them track the package. It likely went out for delivery, and if non one was home, it was sent back to the office.

Since its not your name signed then you won't be paying for it. Its up to them to deliver it.

Normally when the mailman shows up and no one is home and they don't leave a package, they leave a note to alert the homeowner that attempt 1, 2 or 3, has been made and that they need to now go to the post office to pick up the package or it will be returned to sender after X days.

I have orders at my local post office, to NOT drop any packages at my home, if no one answers the door. All UPS and FedEx packages go to my mail drop, where there's someone there during business hours to sign for packages. $100+ bucks does not arrive at my house unless I know for certain I will be home that day. And NEVER during the holidays, do packages get "Left on the porch", because thieves follow the delivery trucks to make note of where packages are being dropped off, and either grab them as they are left, or call someone else to stop by to pick them up.
