Can an SD card move apps from an Android to an iPhone?

I recently switched from an android to an iphone for the first time, and I have pretty much everything on my SD card in my android (apps, pictures, videos, etc). Will anything be lost if I move this card into the iPhone? I know that apps can be different between the two phones so I just don't want to mess anything up.

You don't want to do that - The iPhone will want to reformat the SD card which will effectively delete everything on it.

No you could not due to there's no SD card interface in Iphone at all for you to use!

There isn't a single iPhone that has a microSD card slot. Apple has never included one in their phones. You're not confusing it with the SIM card, right? They look similar but are very different and not cross compatible.

I know there's a "Move to iOS" app or something similar to that by Apple on the Play Store that lets you move some of your data over to iOS. I've never used it, so I don't know how well it will move your data. Apps can't be moved from Android to iOS. They have to be re-downloaded on iOS if available. Any purchased apps from the Play Store will need to be purchased on iOS if they are available.

Your micro SD card is pretty much useless with iOS since Apple doesn't want you to use them except for picture transfer with a special adapter.

No, there's no possibility of putting an SD card into an iphone

Your sdcard is formatted for use on android. Better not mess with it.

Can't (not compatible)

IOS and Android apps are incompatible - compiled for different processors and different hardware. You can't run an Android app on iOS and you can't run an iOS app on Android. And just in general, you can't move apps that way, even between Android devices.

Everything would be 'lost' since iPhones don't use SD cards. Even if they did the apps on Android can't work on iPhones (& vice versa). No, the area on the side of the phone is not for SD cards. That is the SIM slot. Totally different functionality there.

Pictures & videos can be though, but you'd have to use other means like email, a computer, photo sharing services between the 2 OSs (Google Photos for example), etc.

Yes it will

The only thing you can really do is sync your photos, movies, and contacts to the respective google apps and then install those apps on the iPhone and login with your gmail account. Anything synced to the google cloud will automatically come over in those apps.

  • When Android user sends text to a mixed group of iPhone and Android users? A family member who is an Android user sent a text message to a large group of recipients, including me. The group has both Android users and iPhone users. I'm an iPhone user. Does this mean that I will receive everyone else s messages like an iMessage group, or will all messages go directly between the conversation starter and whoever is messaging him, without any of the other group members seeing what the other members said?
