Can Bluetooth 4.2 connect to Bluetooth 5.0?
I'm planning to buy the next generation of Apple Watch when it's released (September), because it's most likely going to come with Bluetooth 5.0. However I have an iPhone 7 Plus right now which has Bluetooth 4.2 . So will I still be able to pair up the devices?
I don't know ask Siri
The BT protocol is backwards compatible, there may be features not available with a mix.
Could loose some functionality the watch provides but the phone doesn't support.
Look into upgade for the phone.
When you have two Bluetooth devices of differing versions they will operate together at the lower version of the standard. In your case, it would mean that they would talk to each other according to the standard for Bluetooth 4.2. As Bluetooth is simply a communications tech all it means is that the comms between the phone and the watch would be somewhat slower (but still damn quick), and the range would be less - that's all!
I have a earbuds with Bluetooth 5.0. Can I connect or pair to my MacBook which have Bluetooth 4.2? Please assist n help me how to do that?

- Is it possible to pair a Bluetooth dongle with two Bluetooth devices at one time? I have two sofas with inbuilt Bluetooth and iPhone docks. It's possible to pair a phone to one sofa at a time and play music via Bluetooth. If I bought a Bluetooth dongle for my television, would it pair to just one sofa? Or is there a way to pair it to both without having wires running across the room?
- I have the iPhone X and my Bluetooth connectivity of my wireless Jabra Elite Sport ear phones can't connect My iPhone 7 has no problems discovering the Bluetooth connection. But with the iPhone X the connection is not visible. I have tried every which way, hard resetting the phone, on and off the Jabras, on and off the Bluetooth on the iPhone X. Has anyone had the same issues with Jabras Bluetooth or any other Bluetooth ear phones and iPhone X?
