Can colleges track me on Wi-Fi?

So I've arrived in dorm a few days ago with my iPhone 4 and Lenovo ThinkPad T-420 (two Wi-Fi enabled devices) and am wondering if the college can track me on their network. I'm a type of guy that visits a "a variety of websites" and doesn't want to be tracked. (Yes I admit to going on adult websites.) Would I get in trouble for that. Today a chick in charge of the female part of my dorm and a dude in charge of the male part came up and ask am I going to an event. After I said yes the female asked to see my phone. I'm like WTF!

If you are accessing sites through the school's network, then yes, they can look at what you're doing. That doesn't mean they *will* unless you give them a reason to; it's just too much time and effort to monitor people who have given no sign that they are using the network inappropriately. But you seem to think that the RA's have decided they have a reason to want to know what sites you're accessing, and if that's the case, then yes, it's possible that someone is looking.
