Can i activate an iPhone 6 with someone else's sim?
I just received my brand new iphone 6 in the post, but i can't use my sim for another week. I was wondering if i could activate the phone so i can use it for music and Wi-Fi etc. But using someone else's sim? My boyfriend is on a different service provider but could i activate it with his sim then put it back in his phone, or will it lock to his provider or something?
You can use it for music and Wi-Fi without any SIM. The SIM is required for texting, calls and using carrier data.
An iPhone without a SIM is essentially an iPod Touch or iPad.
If the SIM is with a different carrier, the iPhone will have to be unlocked for it to accept that SIM.

I recently factory restored my iPhone 4 AT&T and it has no sim card so of course it needs to be activated, and I lost mine months ago, if I get my sister's sim card and put it in, then activate my phone, then put my sisters sim back in her phone will I be activated? - How to clear someone someone else's iCloud info off my Iphone 5? I got a used iPhone but the previous owner didn't wipe the phone and it still has all of his data on it. When I try to log off his iCloud or reset the phone it asks for his iCloud password. Is there a way to do this without his password? It's my brother's boss's old phone so I feel a little weird asking for his password.
