Can i get my own plan on a used iPhone 4?

My cousin just got the iPhone 5 and he's giving me his old iPhone 4. I want a two year contract with Verizon. Can I do that? And how would I do it

You would first need to make sure that the iPhone 4 isn't tied to a certain carrier. If it is, you would have to unlock it by means of JailBreaking or contacting the carrier and see if they can unlock it for you. There are also some services on the Internet that can unlock it for you. After it is unlocked you can simply go to the carrier you want service with and ask them to add service to your phone.
