Can I keep unlimited data on verizon? - 1
My iphone recently got wet and broke. I have unlimited data on my line of the family share plan. My mother currently has a "dumb phone" and is eligible for an upgrade. Is it possible for her to upgrade to the new phone (galaxy s4) and have that phone be transferred to my line so I can keep my unlimited data and then her just go back to her phone? Also, if this is possible, do I have to activate it on her line first or can I just transfer it to my line before the activation? My cousin says I don't have to activate it on her line first, but i've read other forums that said you did.

--- sure… People do this all the time, ita called upgrade swapping. Just make sure the agent at the store knows this or else he can really screw up the family plan… Also, grandfathered unlimited data plan policy states --- if at anytime you downgrade to a non-smartphone, you loose unlimited data. You must keep a smartphone on your phone number to maintain your grandfathered unlimited data plan… Smartphones are iphones, androids, windows, and blackberries… Pick one

--- the store agent (if in the store) or 611 agent (if over the phone and this was a upgrade phoen shipment to home) will activate the phone on her line first, thus activating the 2year contract on her line… Then the ESN is flashed to your number. Then moms old phone ESN is flashed back to her line… Same phone numbers… Mom still has old phone with new 2year contract… You have new gs4 with same old contract… And unlimited data plan… And to be fair, when you can upgrade, give it to mom! Lmao!
- What can I do to keep my unlimited data plan on Verizon and upgrade to the iPhone 5? Now I already know that I can buy one full price from Verizon for about $649 but I don't want to go that route, and I don't want to buy a subsidized iPhone 5 and end up losing my unlimited data plan. Would I be able to just wait and buy a used iPhone 5 after it comes out and then have them activate the phone on my account? They wouldn't be able to take away my unlimited data would they?

I currently have a iPhone 4 from Verizon with unlimited 3G which is good but it's slow I've been looking to getting the 5 with a 4gb of mobile data is it worth lossing the unlimited 3G? Also I have the upgrade in my line but if I upgrade my line I will Lose it ether way.
