Can I leave my iPhone plugged in over night?

I just got a new iPhone and I'm used to leaving my phone charging overnight so I start the day off at 100%. But someone told me that it will drain the battery. So can I leave it charging?

Yes you can, I do that all the time.whoever told you that probably had a broken charger, because I have broken my charger many, many times.

Yes, I actually charge mine at night then unplug it in the morning and it usually last me almost all day. But it is good to let your phone die every now and then so it won't show false percentages: )

I do the same thing overnight. As long as you make sure the charger works, the iPhone will be at 100% every morning when you need it.

I unplug mine as soon as it is charged. I read that if you leave it in all night it can cause a fire. I unplug the cord and phone is charged. When it gets low i plug it back in and charge again.

Personally, I wouldn't make a habit of it. The battery usually doesn't drain that much when you're sleeping anyway, so I don't bother charging it at all if battery level it at 80% or above.

Of course, it will depend on what you use it for and where you charge it. For example, the in-dash 7 inch DVD player in my car will charge my iPhone when I use it as a music source while driving (which is pretty much every day) and I don't use my iPhone as an MP3 player out of the car (I have a 4th gen iPod Touch dedicated for that.)

Bottom line? Unless you're literally staring at that screen the entire day, you usually don't have to have your iPhone battery at 100% to get you through the day.
